The way the manufacture says to do it, the only thing (I think) that can mess it up is if the PC turns off somehow (power failure, accidentally shut it down) It doesn't take long for the BIOS to update a couple minutes. But when I did my first BIOS update, those couple minutes were the most stressful and paranoid filled minutes of my life. Because if it happens I think your mobo is completely screwed. Don't think manufacturers cover BIOS update problems under warranty :c

Well my ASUS ROG G750JX have an app that automatically updates the bios. I'm just wondering what I should do in case anything messed up.

I don't think there is much you can do if it becomes messed up, if in the unlikely case it does. Try contact ASUS about it and see what they say. But usually, you shouldn't update your BIOS unless you need too.
