By downloading, are you referring to downloading things from the internet? That's primarily capped by the speed you get from your ISP,

i have a 500 mbit connection and my friendo to when we dowmnload trhe same game im downloading at 10 to 20 megabytes a second while he is downloading at 50-60 from steam

Very unlikely to be the fault of the SSD. Even a modern HDD should be able to write at 50-60 MB/s. To check the SSD on its own, use something like https://crystalmark.info/en/software/crystaldiskmark/.

Are you downloading through Steam or something? Are you using the same download server as your friend? Maybe try running a speed test (https://www.speedtest.net/), to check the speed of the connection separate from the SSD.

Same ISP and location? If it is, then it sounds weird.

Could be a problem on your network causing packet loss, which would trash the throughput and latency for everything else. Did you try speedtest.net?

ok so i have 3 computers one has windows 11 and a samsung ssd. when i download games on that pc i always download at 60 mb/s with the ssd being only at 15-20% use.

my second pc with windows 10 and a sandisk ssd only downloads at 10-15 mb/s at best most of the times it crashes and the ssd is always at 100% use why

Can you check the SSD using CrystalDiskMark?

That disk should be able to write at up to 3 GB/s, and not limit your download rate in any way.

What are the specs of these machines? What are their CPUs? What models are the SSDs?

Don't confuse megabits (Mb) with megabytes (MB). There are 8 bits in a byte, so 1 megabyte/sec = 8 megabit/sec.

60 MB = 480 megabits (60 x 8).
