I was watching the TIktok tricks video on LTT, and saw the My Ad Center part. Decided to check it out and was kinda interesting on the 'Manage Privacy' page, and figured it might be cool to see how accurate their assumptions are about you.

I saw 6 categories. Relationships, Education, Industry, Employer Size, Homeownership and Parenting

Relationships: Google thinks I'm married. I'm not, I am in a longterm relationship though

Education: Google thinks I have a high school diploma. I don't have that actually (never finished it), but I do have a degree that's equivalent to an associate degree, and will get my bachelors.

Industry: Manufacturing. Absolutely not, I'm in healthcare, social/youth worker to be more specific.

Employer size: Very large employer (10k+): Not true, there are about 1700 employees, the majority who I will absolutely never interact with either. I only interact with about 20. There are also only 2 people between myself and the top of the organization.

Homeownership: Homeowners. Sadly no, still renting. We've been wanting to buy, but the economy is ridiculous over here, and since we still have some student loans, the mortgage we can get, is just not enough to get a decent place. We have a great place, was build less than 5 years ago and we are the first to live here, solid home, so for us to get something better is gonna be a while.

Parenting: Parents of infants. This is the first one that's correct, I have a 9 month old girl.

I found this quite interesting, we always assume they know so much about us, but they only base that on what you offer up of course. Some of the topics attached to my profile, are about DIY and like woodworking. I like to do stuff my hands, both because it's fun and much cheaper, so when I got car problems, I will try to find out if I can repair it myself. So in that sense it makes sense that Google assumes that this is my line of work, and that I don't have a degree. I'm also not searching for a house, because I know I can't afford it (plus my gf looks for it on her profile - it would be interesting to see if they think she rents, in which case our profiles are not connected in their system?)

I'm guessing the married thing is based on being a parent, and being married is just their version of 'long term relationship"

Oh and I don't bother looking for mental health stuff on Google, those days are behind me, and if I do look something up, it's generally at work on a PC there.
