so i need to remove armoury crate to use gskill? but my ram used to appear on armoury crate

its just a guess, but it seems likely,  often these manufacturer softwares dont play nice together.

do you get any error message when trying to install gskill?

i see, well i would try that... uninstall armory, then reboot... install gskill and maybe *then* armory again so it could see the gskill ram/software (i guess thats how it works)

aura was so much better..... sort of.. atleast it worked and i could set it to smart to show color code to temp sensor in my water loop.. sadly.. armory crate don't support asus rog strix Z390-E anymore..

honestly i don't really fully remember but i think it was Asus (or gigabyte... or both... ) where their software just wouldn't uninstall fully... i still have it partly installed but disabled in services... wonder if its thats whats going on with OPs issue, but yeah most of these software thingies are awful...

the gskill software works well for me, but didn't work at all on my old motherboard... and icue... doesn't see the ram either,  even though i think it should...

could be... but have you considered using openRGB? should definitely work as long you don't have a MSI mobo...

and fancontrol in case you need fan control, although that's typically better done in BIOS

I have the GSkill app for controlling the LEDS on the RAM. It works MOST of the time, and that's with Armoury Crate, Corsair iCUE, and MSI's lighting control all running. Every once in a while I can tell it's not working and I have to start the program and reselect Profile 1 to get my original lighting scheme back. It appears the GSkill app just doesn't load with Windows, but the app runs when I double click on it. Maybe the OP's hardware is different than mine (likely). I have Asus Maximus Z790 Hero, i9 13900, MSI RTX 4090.
