Do you guys think it'd be possible to make a mobile charger from scratch? My phone has terrible battery life, and I am not willing to buy the extended battery for it unless I absolutely HAVE to. I have a few old phones with the batteries still in them, and I have a spare male USB cable segment. Would the batteries have to be the same voltages? Is this even possible? Do I risk harming myself in some way? I have spare time and really like doing contraptions like this that actually serve a purpose. Would really like some feedback on this.

i would think it has to be the same voltage and amps so it can charge properly but there may be a worksround

A Voltage Regulator is the work around, the amps will depend on the impedance of the device connected.

I'm just a soul who is up to no good.

The idea would be to have 5v going to a female usb port then i guess. Is there any way i couldput battery from an old phone so it could be recharged? I want to be able to charge the cbrger, and then take it to school. Can anyone link the regulator i would need in order to do this? I dont even know what i should look for.
