Haunted by DPC latency.

Go to solution Solved by nomadamon,

SOLUTION: My router was causing interference. After moving it away, the popping stopped. When I moved it back, it started popping again. I will update in 24hrs with results.

For the last two weeks I have been having issues with audio popping and crackling. This has made a lot of games extremely hard to enjoy. I have been looking for a solution for a while now, yet haven't found anything. I'm beyond lost. I have completely wiped all of my drives, changed USB ports for my headphones, moved my PC closer, reset BIOS and CMOS, ect. I even went out and bought an i5-12600k along with a new motherboard to boot. You have no idea how insane I felt when it started back up. Here are my specs

OLD

RTX 3060

Ryzen 5 3600

32gb 3600mhz DDR4

Asus ROG Gaming II B450

NEW

RTX 3060

Intel i5-12600k

32gb 3600mhz DDR4

MSI Pro Z690-a

Here is also a Latencymon report.

CONCLUSION
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Your system seems to be having difficulty handling real-time audio and other tasks. You may experience drop outs, clicks or pops due to buffer underruns. One or more DPC routines that belong to a driver running in your system appear to be executing for too long. One problem may be related to power management, disable CPU throttling settings in Control Panel and BIOS setup. Check for BIOS updates.
LatencyMon has been analyzing your system for  0:07:13  (h:mm:ss) on all processors.

MEASURED INTERRUPT TO USER PROCESS LATENCIES
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The interrupt to process latency reflects the measured interval that a usermode process needed to respond to a hardware request from the moment the interrupt service routine started execution. This includes the scheduling and execution of a DPC routine, the signaling of an event and the waking up of a usermode thread from an idle wait state in response to that event.

Highest measured interrupt to process latency (µs):   648.50
Average measured interrupt to process latency (µs):   6.096349

Highest measured interrupt to DPC latency (µs):       576.10
Average measured interrupt to DPC latency (µs):       3.107648

 REPORTED HARD PAGEFAULTS
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Hard pagefaults are events that get triggered by making use of virtual memory that is not resident in RAM but backed by a memory mapped file on disk. The process of resolving the hard pagefault requires reading in the memory from disk while the process is interrupted and blocked from execution.

NOTE: some processes were hit by hard pagefaults. If these were programs producing audio, they are likely to interrupt the audio stream resulting in dropouts, clicks and pops. Check the Processes tab to see which programs were hit.

Process with highest pagefault count:                 cod.exe

Total number of hard pagefaults                       99886
Hard pagefault count of hardest hit process:          78836
Number of processes hit:                              82

Is this the solution then?

Having same problems with audio and latency in laptop - Asus Strix Scar III 17" (i7-9750-H, RTX 2070, 970 Evo Plus) when using external sound card (Presonus Studio 24c). 6 clean windows installs, even tried win 11, nothing fixed it.
