Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: mid-graphics gaming and animation (specifically 2D)

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

this is my pc build i hope to make in the future, and I was wondering if theres anything wrong/off with it? or is there anything better I could get? here's the link to it.

TLDNR: quibbles all

-Not sure about the pure rock.  Could be pricey for its performance.  This is lga1700 not lga 1200.  Might be okay, I don’t know.

-there’s not a whole whacking lot of storage there.  It will work in the short term, but I would put that SSD in the second slot.

-might be able to drop the wattage on that PSU 100w and get away with it.

together this might be enough savings to move to a bigger graphics card, but most of it is in the PSU, which would probably just have to become bigger again with a larger video card.  Checking the length measurement of the video card and the height measurement of the cpu cooler vs space in the case would be needed.

I’ve noticed lately that pcpartpicker has dropped in quality a bit.   It doesn’t list everything but it does list most things, and there is often an identical or competing product available for cheaper elsewhere.  Microcenter walk in can usually beat it for example, but their selection is usually more limited.  There will be parts on Pcpartpicker that microcenter simply doesn’t have.  They’re not very good at coolers for one.  That market is changing really fast though and there is a lot of price shifting and stuff becoming unavailable.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

didn't realized I had TOO much wattage that I may have not used, so i changed it to a Thermaltake Smart 600 W, as for the storage, I forgot to mention that I'm using my current old pc's Hard drives and moving them into the new one. but for the motherboard, Im unsure what counts as what, im going to use dual monitors and probably alot of usb cables. is there any motherboard you'd recommend?

That’s a big bump. Might actually be low now.  Depends on the model probably. I don’t know anything about thermaltake and power supplies other than it doesn’t make them themselves.  Probably a superflower or something.  Like I said, a quibble. If there was a good deal on that particular PSU it could justify it.
