as far as signal integrity im guessing it could be noticeable in maybe a bluray movie but not bad for light tasks? I dont know much about this stuff

The power of the signal degrades with every extra foot of cable.  Lengths less than 50ft are generally fine for most uses but it really varies depending on the device, the cable, and signal quality.  Every extra physical connector in the line also causes losses.
