Nope, if you disc is damaged, there really isn't anything you can do to replace that data. So try to take good care of your physical media. The good news is I have games much older than Doom3, that still play fine.

Disc polishing / resurfacing is a thing. Done right it does work, but it can't be done indefinitely. You are taking material away. However it's like polishing a car, done wrong you can do more harm than good.

The only way physical media can have corrupted files is if the data used with the master at the pressing plant was corrupted (if it was there would have been a major storm and the need to issue replacement discs) or the surface of the disc is damaged or scratched.

The only way to stop the latter from causing issues is to not treat the discs like garbage and keep them in their original case.

Reinstall the game? Some games have a repair option built into the installer.

so the games installed from a physical copy can get/be corrupted like digital ones?

Any file can get corrupted for one reason or another. Files are files, there's no magic barrier that makes ones installed from physical media different to ones installed from a server over the internet.

wow, so all games files can get corrupted?, omg rdr2 must be digital cause if you get physical you must to reinstall the game to fix corrupt files cause that makes the game slow! nooo

Its bit more complicated than that. All digital files can get corrupted and because of variety of reasons. Something becoming slow is most likely not corrupted file. Most often corrupted files are not loading at all or crashing. Something being just slow feels more like hardware or OS issue to me.

Most games released after 2010 are all digital. Discs are used as alternative way of delivering and installing. You can probably do repairs within your chosen paltform directly, without having to insert disc at all. RDR2 for example, you have probably downloaded most of the files for that game anyway.
