New Build No POST

Kaizer

currently building a new pc for a friend and it's a

MSI Pro Z690-A

i7 13700k

MSI RTX 3050

Samsung 980 Pro m.2

Corsair Vengance 2x16gb 3200

MSI 240R Liquid Cooler

and Thermaltake smart 700W PSU.

Red CPU light pops up on mother board and Graphics card and CPU cooler seem to be working good as both power on and light on fine along with other connections for the case.

I checked the ram by swapping it in with a known good set and nothing changed. only thing i've seen possible is maybe that the cpu power on the mother board has 2 8-pin connectors and the PSU only has one available. could lack of possible connector prevent it from post or possible bad board? CPU pins look good also.

only current fix i can think of besides mother board will be to upgrade the PSU to a fully modular one and connect the other 8-pin connector to see if it posts

Z690 boards need a bios update to support Raptor Lake CPU-s (13th gen), those boards came out for Alder Lake (12th gen).
