Hi, i'm going to upgrade my gpu and the 5700xt in the UK is the best price to performance (around 拢170-200) but i've heard alot about these being unstable and always overheating with extreme FPS fluctuations, im wondering if this is true as any comparable cards are well into the 250-350 range and thats out of my budget!! any help is appreciated thanks!!!!

Towards the beginning of their release, their drivers were a complete mess, though they have been more or less ironed out at this point and those issues have been AFAIK fixed. The overheating thing is dependent on the exact model of the card, assuming you aren't getting a reference card though temps should be pretty manageable. The 5700 XT would be a pretty good option in that price range.聽

Depends on WHICH model 5700XT.

From what I recall, the XFX THICC II cooler was pretty bad, along with the AsRock Challenger D.

Some Gigabyte models too (?)

I used a Sapphire NITRO+ 5700XT up until ~April of this year, and I didn't have any overheating or FPS fluctuation issues.

A buddy of mine has the Gigabyte Gaming OC 5700XT. At stock it ran quite a bit warmer than my Sapphire card.

After tuning the voltage down (stock 1.200V to like 1.150V?) and setting a custom fan curve, it's been fine since.
