Download speed issue

I recently upgraded to Gigabit fibre at my home.When I run a speedtest on my pc (connected with ethernet) I get about 900 to 980 megabits per second, so about 100 to 120 megabytes per second.

But when I download a game on Steam,Xbox app or even Ea App, my download speed doesn't break past 60 megabytes per second.Also the download speed fluctuates alot , it is 60 one second then it drops to 12 and then back to 40 and so on.

I did update Windows 11 to the latest version and I updated my ethernet drivers,but still no luck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated .

Are you installing to a SSD or HDD?

I get the same result on both an SSD and HDD

you can't guarantee any specific service will give you full gig speeds, especially if there's traffic on their end.

you can have 1TB/s internet, the server that stores the game can only send files as fast as it can, buying faster internet won't speed it up..
