Gpu or cpu !

Lustrality
Go to solution Solved by RONOTHAN##,

Both. Get a R5 5600 for an in socket upgrade (this should be $175 and be a pretty massive performance uplift over the 2600), and spend the rest on a GPU and maybe a PSU depending on what unit you currently have.

Budget (including currency): 1000$

Country: canada

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 1080p/1440p gaming, plex server.

Other details: amd 2600 32gb 3000mhz ddr4 rx580 8gb Gpu mainly play at 60 fps but higher is nice 😄

So my main question is what should i be upgrading at this point the CPU or the GPU? Thanks folks

You should easily be able to fit a 6900xt/3080, they float around 600usd on ebay

The budget is likely CAD given they're in Canada, so it's closer to ~$700 USD. Getting a 6900 XT into there with a new CPU and likely a new PSU as well (6900 XTs draw a ton of power) is pretty tough.

Think you might be looking in the wrong locations for them, you can find 6700 XTs for about $500 CAD. ~$800 CAD should get you a 6800 XT brand new
