Which DDR4 memory speed should I get for the i7-13700K in my new build? I have heard people say that 3600 is the sweet spot for DDR4 but I have also seen that 13700K only supports speeds up to 3200. What is the best memory speed I can get for this CPU without facing compatibility issues?

Motherboard would be the aorus Z690 elite.

3600 is best bang for buck now yes.  You should be able to use XMP to get those speeds quite easily...however, not to scare you or anything but over 3200 is considered by intel an overclock.  So using these speeds is at your own risk

With all the Trolls, Try Hards, Noobs and Weirdos around here you'd think i'd find SOMEWHERE to fit in!

13th gen seems to be fine at 4000-4400 in gear 1 depending on sample

Above 3200 is technically considered an overclock but 3600 is basically guaranteed to work assuming your ram or board isnt a defective pos, also dont fall for the 3600 garbage non bdie cl16 scam, you get no noticable performance benifit (1%) but you pay >20$ extra, youll get more out of just maxing out trefi (65536, 66666, 111111, etc.)

I just went from 3200c16 to my first bdie kit 3600 dual rank 14-14-14-28

tfrc 280 and trefi 111111 and those 2 setting over xmp made a huge difference

all in all I went from 42gbs 75ns on old kit to 55gbs 45ns and one percent lows in gaming went through the roof, we’ll worth the money and time

Actually im kinda curious if the primaries actually do much since i havent seen noticable gains with tight primaries but im on over decade old hardware, whats 16-16-16 vs 14-14-14 performance wise with everything else being the same?

Not everyone wants to overclock but setting trefi and trfc is very simple with other major timings being tfaw, trc, and trrd-l/s, just a matter of lowering till it dont boot and raising till its stable

I don’t have a trc setting in bios ?
and not a fat lot I think I went from 65ns to 62ns with just primarys

What timing(s) in particular gave you the biggest drops in latency, bandwidth, or biggest uplift performance wise in general?

And you may wanna consider loosening cas if its not giving much benifit since that timing tends to gobble lots of volt
