Any cooler will cost more than a GT710 which is a KILLER GODZILLA compared to the GTS250 🙂

I think its just more cost effective to ziptie a damn 775 copper core onto the thing, buy one of those for 3$ and ziptie to the gpu, and these are not weak coolers either (iirc designed for core 2 quads, have one myself and performs abit worse than my 92mm china tower)

what exactly is the reason behind the question?

because GTS250 is sort of in that terretory where you can score a working card for free if you know the right dumpster to dive in...

my dad plays Legacy games such age of empires III, not DE, and the games are not playing well

Heroes V and such so he need a good graphics card and i had that GTS 250 with a broken fan.

and no, buying a new gpu is out of the question

remove the fan, and strap a roughly similar fan in it's place. i have a radeon HD5770 that still spins fine with the fan from some cheap-ass cpu cooler roughly in place of where the old fan sat.

what I should have done in the first place, now I ordered some VRAM heatsink to that GPU.

Because this Cooler which is original doesn't cover the VRAM

back in the day the vram really didnt need that much cooling, just make sure there's airflow trough the heatsink.

still 5 dollar for a pack of heatsinks various sizes and thermal glue to make VRM happy? I think it is a good deal

Hey, the GPU is either dead or would not turn on.

Maybe because the original fan is not plugged in?

Because i Cant see it the Device Manager....

If its not working then its dead.

I mean you can plug in the original fan but I doubt thats the issue.

5$ is enough to get a gts250. Keep in mind its NOT SUPPORTED in new windows 10 or 11.

Because the heatsink is cold that why I think it’s dead and also no video output (no matter port). My dad uses windows 7
