Do I need to buy a new PSU?

konditv

Hi!

My current specification is:

i5 10400f
Cpu cooler SPC Fera 5
Msi h510m-a pro
Palit gtx 1050 2gb
Kingston fury 2x8gb 3200Mhz (I know its only working 2666Mhz on my motherboard)
ssd samsung evo 860 250gb
hdd toshiba p300 500gb

Monitor Acer KA242Ybi 24inch FHD

2nd Monitor some sort of old office Dell 19inch

PSU: be quiet! system power 8 400W 80+

I want to buy a new GPU and im thinking about one of RX 6600/6600XT/6700. Budget is tight so most likely its gonna be RX 6600. The question is, will my psu be enough or do I need to buy a new one?

Thanks for any advice!

Just make sure the PSU has the cables for it, as the 6600/6600XT has one 8-pin PCI power connecter and the 6700XT requires a 6-pin and an 8-pin connector.

It's the bottom of the barrel from be quite!. Group regulated, low quality, 230v only. Yes, you have to replace it.

Ok thank you.

I found this PSU for a nice price:

Seasonic Core Gold GC-650 650W 80+ Gold Power Supply

will it be good enough even if I go with RX 6700?

Yes, they have enough cables and should handle the 230 W TDP of the 6700 XT

I think im gonna buy this one. Will it be somehow future proof in case I upgrade my motherboard and cpu in like a year? Not sure im gonna upgrade GPU (im getting RX 6600) since i play only 1080p and wont buy a new monitor anytime soon.

So Corsair's RM750 Gold 14cm Fan Modular ATX PSU won't do if he'd upgrade to a 6700XT?

MB en CPU upgrade is no problem with this 550w PSU. For a GPU upgrade you better switch to a 650w or 750w PSU.

Looks like the RM750 does have the connectors to support a 6700XT so it would be fine

So it's okay if I get a RM750 now (alongside a 5600 & RTX 2060)  and in the future when I upgrade to a 6600XT or an 6700XT I'll be sorted,
