Content creation + fast refresh rate

Hi all, any deals (BFCM or otherwise, as of late) for these needs? If not, willing to shell out.

Heavy content creation with moderate gaming.

-27" (not curved)
-1440p or 4K
-IPS
-at least 120hz+
-HDR 400+ (600+ if possible)
-99% of sRGB and at least 90% of P3 if possible
-at least 500+ nits
-really good contrast ratio (?) if possible

$500-$900 budget

i’d love a couple options if yall happened to know of some panels like this, I feel like lately I’ve been seeing more that were mini-LED with similar specs.

No IPS comes with good contrast. You can get mini-LED IPS which can have decent contrast but have an issues of their own (espeically outside of HDR)

Other than that - most gaming IPS should easily meet your requirement (with 500+ nit being another exception, most IPS aren't made to be that bright in SDR but they may have HDR mode that allows for that level of brightness)

For 900 buck, the Cooler Master new GP27U mini-LED is hard to beat when it comes to value. Some reviewer (Tim from Hardware Unboxed especially) reccomend against it because its variable refresh rate doesn't seem to work with HDR out of the box but it should not be an issue for most people imo (just turn on v-sync and most competitive title don't do HDR anyway)

If you don't care about HDR, you can also hardly go wrong with M28U. It has 500+ full screen brightness and just a percent shine of 90 percent DCIP coverage (89 by rting) and a decent contrast for IPS plus a relatively good pre-calibration out of the box

Gigabyte M28U Review - RTINGS.com

In general, you can also check other monitor with similar spec in rting review section. Most 4k 27 inches should be more than capable for your task. If you want the wildest colour gamut possible, the one from MSI is also a good choice (but have the level of brightness you will looking for if I remember correctly)

Most 1440p option can also easily satisfy your need but most come with HDR400 which in this case, typically mean that the monitor can only reach 400 nits at most in SDR.

Thanks for the recos. Not really looking for a ‘gaming’ IPS; I just want the 120+ refresh, but I realize at my pricepoint thats a lot to ask for and be bright af/color accurate as hell, outside of the 3.4K asus proart or whichever that was.

i’d be willing to stretch my budget if I knee of any comparable ones. Which MSI model are you referring to?

Gaming monitor has very good colour coverage, and can have good colour accuracy (the Gigabyte one especially)

You don't really need Asus ProArt for just the colours performance (you need one if you want to create HDR content.) If you want the best of the best colour accuracy, just buy a 60 buck something colourimeter, no display can be use for the most colour critical work without periodic calibration (LCD shift colours overtime)

Higher refresh rate displays are almost exclusively gaming, and so it's a good place to start to find something that fit your need. And it can be a lot cheaper than most creative-focus monitor, if there isn't any spesific feature that you want, I see no reason to just get one that allow you to both work and play.

Monitors like the Gigabyte's do meet your P3 requirement and I think the one from MSI (the 32 inch one especially, MPG321UR-QD) has near perfect coverage of a wilder colour spaces than any monitor that I am aware of.

And for the record, I am using Gigabyte FV43U which has a perfect coverage of P3 as well (pretty much 100 percent P3) but it's a VA and not IPA - and has really poor viewing angle which may not be suitable for your creative needs. But if you can work with it (and I can as a photo editing hobbyist), this monitor also have everything that you need. Very bright (up to 700 nits full screen(, good colour volume and very good colour covreage.
