So i'm here with the weirdest issue i've ever seen. (sorry for bad English)
so for context, i stole a 120GB kingston SSD from my working laptop to have windows 10 on my main pc (running 11 right now and don't want to clean wipe it just to test out 1 game). For some reason i used windows media tool to wipe format the drive on my laptop then pull it out and put it into my pc, after that it's recognized as a 2Tb drive in windows media tool and in disk management in a GPT protective partition.

I tried HDD LLF and it just stopped responding after 40 mins after selecting the drive, disk management now takes around an hour to open while having this ssd plugged in, windows media tool threw an error after trying to reformat it for an hour, windows diskpart said that it did something but nothing actually changed.

error code 0x80004005

Is there a way to save this SSD or did i messed it up so bad that i just need to get a new drive?

You could try live booting some linux distro such as ubuntu and try and delete the parition and format it from there since as far as I know the formatting tools in linux don't care about protected partitions.

You could also try deleting the partition in Windows using the command prompt and this tutorial below which helps you override the windows restrictions placed on the parition. Your drive is still recognised as a 120gb so it's still probably fine.

Or you could use AOMEI Partition Assitant, the best there is and it's FREE.

Interesting. Can you try that again and see what the event log says? Might also be worth starting CMD as administrator and try again if you haven't done yet. Type CMD in the search bar and press CTR+Shift+Enter at the same time and it should start as admin.

Bummer, I have never had that problem before so I don't really know how to respond.  I have been using this software for a long time  without any problems at all, I was really hoping this would help solve your problems too because it has helped me with mine.  I hope you get figured out what is going on.  Good luck.

Yeah that's what i did, sorry for not being active for 2 days my internet went down but i was able to try it on ubuntu and and i was able to format it just fine then i went back to trying to install windows on it and it did the same thing as before, just took an hour and threw the same error and now reading 2tb again, went back to linux and was able to install ubuntu on it with no issues then i tried 2 completely different computers and both had same issues, even tried with a different usb drive and with some win 7 installer disk i had laying around and nothing worked. think i'm just gonna buy a new SSD, it's not worth messing with this one anymore.
thanks for helping tho 🙂
