Hello,

I am working on a new build, which will be the first time since the windows XP days that I built a computer. It goes without mentioning big world of difference from then till now. Back in the XP days everything was basic you needed a small graphics card, which came sometimes with its own fan, a small fan for the CPU and the fan that came in the power supply, not much else. Baby we’ve come a long way. I am going to be doing a full water cooling and I already have the parts purchased for that as well as the case, PSU, CPU, GPU, storage and the motherboard is on its way shipping to me.

I have purchased a Phanteks 1000 W fully modular PSU.  I want to do fully modded cables for the PS you, but this is my first rodeo with cable modding.  I originally was going to shop at a highly recommended site called cablemod. but since I am shooting for a black light looking build with lots of RGB (my case is even pink) I wanted to get the UV reactive pink set of cables but unfortunately they are sold out for the mod mesh, UV reactive line.  I have found a company called solo. https://solosleeving.com/product/24-pin-custom-sleeved-paracord-modular-power-supply-cable/ And I was starting to do a fully custom cable set up but it came to a point where was asking me how long the cables need to be.  I also don’t know what specific cables I need to make certain I purchase. It goes without saying that I need to start out with the 24 pin cable, but I don’t know what other cables I need to order and what ones I no longer need because it goes without saying I’m not exactly going to be needing a Molex cable for an IDE drive these days.  Can anyone please help me figure out which cables I need to get and how long they have to be? I am providing a link to my builds on PC part picker. Please be advised because I purchased my water cooling supplies at Micro Center, which has a store near me, I don’t have the ability to import the entire order for all of the parts for the water cooling. I am going with soft tubing because I figure since this is my first build since windows XP. I am already pushing the envelope on my new skills with doing full water cooling in the first place .

I will be recording my build as it goes along and posting it online because in my opinion, there are too few female techs out there doing this. If anyone has any comments on my build, I also would appreciate hearing them. One final question I do have is, I have seen 24 pin RGB cables am I going to do OK if I decide to go with one of those instead of a custom built 24 pin cable mod where I pick out every color of the power cord? In short is power cord any better than the RGB cables ?

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Wonder Woman
