Hello, yesterday i bought ryzen 5 5600 and installed it. Almost everything is fine, only the cpu fan makes strange noises. I cant even record them proprely but its not about being noisy, but that there is this strange sound that is extremly irritating. And when cpu fan i going on higher rpm's the sound dissapears and is comming back when rpm's gets lower. Its sounds like some robotic sound or whirring. I double checked if there are any cables under it or any other objects but i dont find anything. Im looking for some advice maybe there is something i can do other then sending it back.

Is everything tightly screwed? Looks like resonance at certain speeds due to vibrations

The whole cooler to the backplate screws are tight for sure, dont know what else would be the case but i could say it sound a bit like resonance

Then could also be because the stock AMD fans aren't really great, and yours don't rotate fully on axis making some buzzing noise

If tightening/reinstalling don't solve the problem you could just buy any $20 aftermarket cooler, and get less noise less heat

  • 1 month later...

Came here from google asking the same question. Surprise! I have the exact same fan as you! For my 3900x

Such a weird annoying sound, almost like the fan is dying at low rpms.

F IT. New cooler time. I liked it out of the box, saved some money on the build last year, but this noise is too much for me.
