external ssd disconnecting

Hey, does anyone know why my ssd disconnects when launching a game (destiny2).

just bought a new ssd with a new sata to usb cable, also did a lot of things with settings like changing the usb power saving, so it wouldnt shut down randomly, but it still does when launching a game, updated everything.

Any suggestions

try different cables? what adapter is it? could be just a really cheap one that doesn't work well.

some games really don't like being on external ssd... never had this issue with hdd... no idea.
