Good ideas for christmas upgrade for parents?

Retro_R

The house my parents live in rn was built in 2011, and it is an awesome modern design. It also has a great entertainment system that came with the house, even like overhead speakers u can put ur ipod in and stuff. (The rear 5.1 speakers r in the walls so maybe that can be turned into Atmos speakers) The thing is, it wasn't updated from 2011, it's 11 years old. It has a 55' Samsung TV, and a Denon AVR-2112CI. It's so old the tv still has 3d (even with lost glasses and a 3d bluray drive). I don't like to go out into the living room much, but when i do, i kinda get annoyed at how old it is. My tv is better than the one they have. So, since i have 'big boy money' i thought i might as well surprise them for Christmas (even if they may not want it)

I want to get them a new 4k TV, along with a receiver to be able to push those pixels. I don't really care about the other stuff in the system, as long as it all works with the new reciever. Also, i dont want to spend to much. For both the tv and the reciever i'm thinking $750, max maybe $1,000, but mainly $600-750.

For the reciever, i have some ideas for some good ones. Either the Denon s750h, or the Denon S760H. I'm learning to the 760 as it can push 8k, which is good for wiggle room in case 8k ever becomes reasonable. Also, it's $100 off in costco and not that much compared to the 750. Also, it's the same brand as the previous, and seems pretty similar to it in a lot of cases. Although, if there were one that was better i wouldn't mind getting one used to be honest.

For the tv, im not sure. I obviously want something 55' or above, and i've been looking at best buy n other stores to see for any good deals. I've been mainly looking at Samsung, LG, Sony, since i've read that they're the longest lasting. Although, if anyone knows if theres any tvs that are cheaper that should last a while please let me know. I know TCL n others have good deals on tvs right now and i wouldn't mind getting some of those, i just want it to last a decent amount of time.

I'm not knowledgeable in some of this home theatre stuff, so im posting here to ask if anyone has some suggestions.

What size TV can you fit in that space? Getting a new TV of the same size just to be "newer" would be silly if you can't also boost the size to 65" or 75".

I'm not sure exactly what size would be able to fit exactly, i'm not sure what sizes the wall mount can take, but i do know theres a center speaker that is kinda big that could cover up the screen if it's too big. Then i would have to find a new wall mount and dismantle the wiring n shit to reposition the tv up to make it fit.

I had similar thoughts, but smaller tvs are cheaper anyway, which is like the main thing i'm tryna do, like i wanna treat em but i can't break the bank either. Plus all the stuff is fit for a 55' tv anyway so i feel it's kinda better to look for one similar. Although, i found a slightly bigger 58' Insignia tv which is a really good deal.
