Hi, i currently have a RTX 2060 and are looking to upgrade it

Prices here in Australia are stupidly expensive aound $1200-$1500 for both RX 6900 and RTX 3080. never bought anything used before and currently too scared to.

I have always had nividia but im open to whatever is best bang for buck and performance, i have always stuck to the Asus brand due to build quality and never having issue with anything from Asus.

I'll obviously need a PSU upgrade as mine is only a Corsair RM650x, open to suggestions here of brand and wattage

Currently looking at Gigabyte M32Q 31.5inch 165Hz QHD SS IPS KVM Gaming Monitor unless somene can suggest a better one? this is priced at $559

other specs are

ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING (WI-FI) (AM4)

16gb G.Skill F4-3200C16-8GTZR

AMD Ryzen 5 5600X

Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 1TB M2

Samsung SSD 870 EVO 1TB x2

Samsung S27A950D (1920x1080@120Hz)

Games i play are

GTA 5

Cyberpunk 2077

Far Cry 6

Red Dead Redemption 2

Budget is $2200 AUD, this will need to be for Monitor, GPU and PSU although i can steal a Corsair RM1000x i have in another PC i have which is overkill for that machine but it is over 5 years old.

Down the track or depending on Black Friday sales also looking into upgrading cpu to AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D

thanks in advance

With A$1500 you could get a 6800XT and a nice 1440p monitor, and don't even need to upgrade your PSU, it's a 650W but a good one (RMx)

If you can wait a little bit you might be able to get a 7900 XTX in 3 weeks, should be a solid option.

They will be over $1500 aud I’m guessing considering the Rtx 4080 msrp is $1200 usd but cheapest here is selling for $2400 when straight usd to aud conversion is $1750.

6800xt is better than rtx3080?
is the rx6900 worth the extra few hundred over rx6800? See a few new unopened ones for sale between 1k to 1200 on Facebook marketplace.

i have only ever had nvidia cards so have no experience with AMD other than cpus.

Unsure if this is feasible due to warranty and potential shipping damage. But the massive markups put onto items here is insane. That on top of having to trust someone unknown with a significant amount of money.
