Hi there,聽

I'm not really sure what's going on but I've just noticed this since I've tried to play warzone 2 the last few days, my GPU and CPU are both extremely running at extremely low % rarely going over 40%, and struggling to maintain a solid 70fps, dropping down to 40-50 constantly on the lowest settings, on higher settings i struggle to maintain even 50, i have a 1440p 144hz monitor with an asus strix 3080 and a AMD 5900x with 32gb 3600 cl17 ram

since i've noticed this on warzone i've checked another fairly difficult game to run, icarus, and the same thing happens on that game aswell, extremely low % and fps for both my cpu and gpu. even on games that i could run easily on my old pc (1060) i struggle to run with more fps on this 3080 pc with the same res monitor.

also the temps on both my gpu and cpu are very low, which i can say im thankful for, atleast something is going well gpu hasn't really ever gone above 70C ever and cpu hasn't gone above 70C either聽
(i have high performance mode on both nvidia and windows power settings)
(my PC is approx 8 months old)

if anyone has any ideas or advice on what i can do to fix or improve my performance on my pc that would be fantastic,
if any extra information is needed i can help in that department聽

massive thanks 馃檪

well the thing is that can change quickly once gpu/cpu get utilized more... its always a good idea to have good case ventilation therefore.聽

As for your current issue,聽 im not sure, did you update the mobo BIOS and chipset drivers?聽

And DDU gpu drivers before installing new ones?

havent done any ddu i usually just express install from nvidia, not very smart when it comes to all the software things聽

to be completely honest im not sure, i got a store to setup my pc just incase i screwed something up, i'd have to assume that they did all that, anyway i could check that?

hmm is it a completely new pc?

anyways, yeah you can and should check...

use cpuz to check your BIOS and look it up on the mobo website if there's a newer one.

you can also download chipset drivers from there.

but make sure its really exactly for your motherboard.聽

DDU you can just download and install/ run.... follow the instructions.聽 Do that first because DDU will wipe your chipset drivers anyway.聽

https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

Also download newest drivers from nvidia before you DDU, and once its done install the drivers normally.

^ i know that sounds like a lot, but its really basic maintenance/聽 troubleshooting and most likely necessary with new hardware.聽

if the shop already did that, i wouldn't bet on it considering your issues!

yeah completely new pc聽

With the bios, thats up to date, whereas the chipset, audio and other drivers with the mobo aren't, with those do i just press download and im all good or do i need to do other things aswell with that,
also with the DDU, how foolproof would that be for someone like me to try and use, i feel like i'd somehow screw over my whole pc doing something like that

ddu is pretty foolproof just follow the instructions (for nvidia) and do it in safe mode (as they suggest)聽

i mean... you聽 can't physically screw up your pc with any of this, but if you install the wrong drivers... there might be even more issues,聽 hence make sure chipset,聽 audio, etc is *exactly* for your mobo and OS.

decided to do it tmr since it's past 3am and not the smartest at this time, just to double check for the morning so i don't forget, do the DDU installation, and then download the nvidia and mobo drivers afterwards?聽
bout to pass out so i'll read and let you know how everything goes in the morning! thanks for everything

yes. basically DDU removes your old gpu and chipset drivers , so afterwards you install new gpu, chipset, other drivers, etc.
