Low reviews around "HP X27", experiences around HP monitors?

Looking for a secondary monitor, only had philips, acer and samsung monitors for some time now, but looking at the HP X27 for a 200$ monitor within certain specs, there's low reviews around it and i cant seem to find a proper test of it.

 

Anyone have experience with HP monitors in general?

 

Currently looking at the X27 for these things mainly:

High refreshrate (165hz)

Can be lifted / rotated

IPS panel

 

HP seems to be a good way to go?

But advice don't go with HP, HP never so good for a very long time already.

Look at ASUS, LG, or any other major brand. I don't trust anything with an HP badge on it.

Been looking at Lenovo G27-20 aswell, but it seems im gonna end up with a ASUS one, spesificly this one "ASUS TUF GAMING VG27AQZ 27" QHD", its just an hour away from me and the store opens in an hour and 20 minutes.

 

Its 200$ at "black friday" offer i guess, and its within my budget haha.

It looks fine on the paper, as did my old acer before it died being 5 and a half year old haha.

 

I havent tested HP yet, but my old acer predator did its charm as a 1080p / g sync monitor.

 

I'm gonna look for the reviews for the ASUS one i found and see if its worth it.

Good choice.

 

I only look for LG, Samsung, Asus & Gigabyte (never own any yet but from review always good) for monitor. 

 

I do check before Lenovo, Xiaomi and Huawei but they never meet my expectation.

 

ViewSonic wise I also avoid as I buy twice and twice also facing issue.

The model seems to have some IPS-Glow from high / brightness in dark rooms from reviews, but im expecting to lower the brightness quite a bit.

 

Will go for it, worst case comes to it i will just return it.

All IPS have glow issue and not suitable use in dark environment. 

 

If you always use in dark environment, VA or OLED is better.

Huh.. Thought my g7 was a ips panel but it's a VA panel with 600 nits..

 

This Asus monitor with 350 or 400 nits should be fine I hope xD

As long you are not using in total dark environment or very dim light environment, the glow is never an issue.

Shit.. Guess well see tonight when i get back from work, its winter months now and it gets dark faster x'D

This is such an academic argument. The glow is never an issue on a decent IPS panel, period. If you are focusing on the glow and light bleed and dead pixels, then maybe you need to play a better game... the improvement in viewing angles of an IPS panel on larger screens is not something to gloss over for "glow"

I did not bother on glow, I always use IPS but only recently change to VA. But this issue is exist like bad viewing angle is exist in VA.

 

All can be eliminate and not bother in reason how you use it. 

 

It is the cons and it can be an issue for the user, thus we should mentioned it instead of ignoring it.

I cant even notice any glows and my room is dark as shit right now, also i have this weird effect from looking at the curved so much.. That the flat monitor to the left is bulging outwards towards me a bit.. Guess its a byproduct of maining on a curved for so long.

 

Not used to flat monitors anymore haha.

 

There's a good difference in brightness from the G7 and the ASUS model tho for sure, but when i adjust it for sRGB and make it slightly more blue with the built in blue-protection something its almost similar.

 

Seems to be a good choice, looking forward to have it for many years to come

Normally a good IPS that have great uniformity was never issue on glow, unless unlucky. 

 

Me also now all my monitors is curve and I love curve.

Glad to know its not an issue here.. Well yet that i know of x)

 

Curved is lovely, just weird to have 2 differences now.

 

But im quite happy for a 200$ snag.
