Hey y'all, so I am having an issue with network speeds on my pc. I still get around 30 Mbps down, but if I reinstall the network driver for my Wi-Fi PCI-e adapter it jumps back up to normal speed, around 300 Mbps down. Speeds are fine from either a day to a few days, then the same issue happens. I'm not sure if this is an issue with the card, OS, or something else so if anyone has experience with this kind of issue I would greatly appreciate it.

Check the power settings for the card under Device Manager. Most (not all) wifi cards have an option that is checked automatically to allow Windows to turn off to conserve power. How windows determines when the card isn't in use...is anyone's guess. I have found this power-saving feature causes all sorts of issues.

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

Hey, sorry for the late response. Do you mean SMPS? I tried setting the MIMO power save mode to "No SMPS", so I'll se if that works. Thanks.

Could be Windows is auto-updating them to something that is causing issues.

When things are working well take a look and screen shot of the drivers for your NIC. Then when the performance drops check again to see if they have changed.

Good idea, will do. Thanks.
