Issue with port forwarding

Go to solution Solved by Biohazard777,

Are you running software on that port?
You can't check port status if there is no service currently using / serving on that port.

Hi, I want to forward a port to my (Windows 10) PC. Here is what I did:

-Gave my PC a static internal IP address

-Reserved this address for the PC in my router's menu

-Forwarded the port to this address in my router's menu

But when I go to canyouseeme.org and enter the port I forwarded, it says "Error: I could no see your service on (public ip) on port (the port I forwarded). Reason: Connection timed out."

Any idea why this is happening? Am I doing something wrong? Could it have something to do with me using my Raspberry Pi as a DNS server?

Thanks in advance.

Check the firewall on the PC - it may not be allowing the port through it.

Thanks for the advice. I made a rule in Windows Firewall to allow that port through the firewall, but I still get the same error on canyouseeme.

I don't have anything using that port, no. It's just testing for a future project. Is that why I am getting the error?
