Im retiring my gtx 1070 and looking for a new gpu, im either thinking a RTX 3070 or switching over to AMD to the RX 6700XT, would like to hear what you would´ve chosen and why :)

6700xt is cheaper for similar performance, especially if you go for a used one on ebay. That’s what I’d do. I have the Noctua 3070 and love it, but I paid a slight premium because I knew what I wanted. Buying a card for a non-Noctua themed build I’d go with the 6700xt any day.

If you need CUDA or the 3070 is priced very close, go for that. If not, get the 6700 XT.

You can get away with some RTX on a 3070 depending on Resolution and you won't get DLSS with AMD. However, AMD GPUs tend to be supported for much longer. AMD is lacking in RT but with FSR it is a little better. Depends if you want faster RT or faster Rasterizing. I'd you don't care for RT the 6700XT is a no Brainer at its price. This console generation is also using AMD cards so expect good optimizations.
