VEGAS Post vs Adobe Creative Cloud

How would Vegas Pro/Post compare to Creative Cloud? I've been paying full price for Adobe Creative Cloud for a little over two years now. Out of their full suite of apps I am only using Premiere, AE, Photoshop, and Media Encoder. 

 

I think the last time I had used Vegas was back in 2013 and only because it was pre-loaded on the laptop I bought for college. The idea of just buying a lifetime license up front is much more appealing than paying over $600 a year to use less than 1/4 of what I pay for.

 

The biggest reason I have not swapped already is After Effects. Being able to just make a quick comp of a clip to apply effects is really nice for how I edit. Does Vegas have similar capabilities? From what I've seen on youtube with people comparing them it looks like a mixed bag that boils down to "kinda sort of🤷‍♂️". Anyone here have experience with this software suite?
