All Games Stutter - PLEASE HELP :()

Optane^

Hello @Optane^!

I believe someone has already encountered the issue you describe and even detailed a solution to it. Basically, the stuttering is due to a downclocking of the CPU cache by the e-cores. He offers three solutions you can try:

  1. Disabling the e-cores completely.
  2. Updating/reinstalling the motherboard chipset drivers
  3. (In conjunction with solution 2) set "Multi-Core Performance" to enabled/always on instead of auto.

You can try the latter 2 solutions, since I think disabling half the CPU is less a fix and more a remedy. Let us know if you achieve any progress with this information. Good luck!

Cheers! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

Hello!

All of my games hiccup for like 2 ms and then resume even with high avg FPS and low ping. (single player too)

What I've done

  • Replaced ram, tried all 4 slots and slots 2&4. PC will go into a boot loop if I use 1&3
  • Fresh windows 10 install with all drivers up to date and even using older nvidia drivers
  • PC has had 3 different GPU's all with the same issue.
  • I have installed games on 2 different SSD's, same problem. (SSD's in good health)
  • PC is not overheating. ( see attached )
  • I have tried using 4 CPU power cables and 8, no difference.
  • I have tried AI tuning on & off.
  • XMP I & II

Example 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTef0-1zw_M (Right as I walk into the doorway)

Example 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxmp-523_98 (Right after I throw the nade)

Not great examples but it's just tiny frame skips that gradually get worse.

Specs:

12700K

ASUS Z690-A

Corsair H150i

FTW 3 3090Ti

32GB Corsair Vengence

1000W Gold PSU

"1" PNG is temps while using the MW2 benchmark

"4" PNG is temps while doing a 3D Mark timespy run, default settings

I'm not sure where to go from here tbh. I feel like if this was a CPU, Mobo or PSU issue there would be a much bigger problem

Thanks for any and all help.

Have you tried reseating the cpu and checking to make sure there isn't any dust on the pads or socket?

That's super-duper amazing!   \(≧∇≦)/\(≧∇≦)/   I'm glad I could be of help and that your games are now running smoothly. If you have any other questions, ask away! If not, then I wish you an excellent time with your games.

  • 2 weeks later...

Well, @BookofNeati lied.

Thought the issue was fixed. He's an example. https://clips.twitch.tv/MiniatureSlickLorisItsBoshyTime-vpNi4iuK2v4HaXYY

Example 2: https://clips.twitch.tv/SpinelessIronicLemurFailFish-XB-T9J5Or2BdxitE

I noticed in these clips it drops a solid 20 FPS and then back up but a 20fps drop shouldn't show an issue like this.

Valorant does the same thing, so does multiple other games...

Changed RAM, Updated BIOS, enabled MCE to always on, Multiple GPU's, Installed drivers after using DDU.

Here's another example AFTER turning off XMP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6MMFkgiIJE

Hello and sorry for the late reply.

I really don't have anything else to suggest that might fix it or that you haven't already tried. If this only happens on multiplayer games, then it may be a connection/LAN driver issue or it may be an issue with a program that is running at the same time as the games that is interfering with the core scheduler but I have no way of corroborating that. Change the video display mode between Fullscreen and Windowed/Borderless as well if you haven't tried that already. I'm sorry I can't be of any more help but at this point I've exhausted all the options that I can think of. I hope you can get to the bottom of the issue soon despite the limited help I can give you. Good luck.
