I am thinking about upgrading my graphics card for one of my systems, and saw there’s a sale for these cards at my local Memory express store.

The specs are

Intel i5 4690k

16gb ddr 3 ram

256 gb nvme ssd

128gb 2.5 sata drive

gigabyte z97 mobo

gtx 1660

The only games I play are maybe valorant and cs go and sometimes cyber punk

the difference between the two cards are $90. Should I go with the 6600 or 6600xt? Should i just save the 90 by going with the 6600 and maybe upgrade my ssd or add more ram?

Will it make much of a difference in the games that I play tho?

The ram upgrade and storage upgrade will probably be more useful.

OK, considering your system, perhaps a good 1TB SSD would be a better path.

Like Samsung 970 EVO.

Do you know if XFX makes good cards? This is my first time in the AMD territory, always had Nvidia.

XFX is as good as any GPU maker. I'd even rate it above average.

Can a 4690K even fully utilize either one of those cards? It's a 4C/4T from almost 10 years ago (shit, I'm old).

That's why I corrected my opinion - RX6600 should be enough. Especially considering Cyberpuunk 2077. Neither the CPU nor either of the GPUs would do well above 1080p, and would probably struggle at that resolution.

CS:GO is good at all listed configurations.

I figured there would be some compromises with this set up, to be honest I build this PC maybe several months ago, got the mobo, cpu and ram for $80, had a 128gb sata ssd and gtx 1660 laying around so started with that and slowly upgraded it. The whole build costed me around $250 inc a new case and 550w psu.

I am noticing the GTX 1660 starts to overheat and then shut down, so thats why I am considering a new gpu. I have already tried putting in new thermal paste it improved slightly and but not much.

GTX 1660 is not that power-hungry GPU, how is the case ventialtion?

Nzxt H510 case, it should be fine, I even tried putting a 1080ti from another build and stressed tested it on the platform and it had no issues running at full load for 2 hours with temps at 75c
