So I normally use an E10 from Fiio to plug my headphones in. Now a few days ago I logged into my PC and I had no sound. The sound mixer clearly indicated the E10 DAC and it indicated that a sound signal was being transmitted, you know the little green bar was jumping all over the place. So I tried plugging it out and in, disabling the device and reenabling it and eventually I removed the drivers entirely and let it reinstall. It then worked perfectly once more, until I restarted. So every time I reinstall the drivers it works fin but the next day it was busted all over again.

Any insight into what the problem could be would be enormously helpful.

Try transferring it to another usb port or unplug it before you boot up and then plug it in when windows hit desktop.

Tried that, seems to be doing the same thing

The E10 should work without a driver...is the blue light lit on the E10?

Yeah it gets power and you hear the headphones thump them I plug them in so there's no problem there. Also it DOES have drivers but they are on board is all, device manager lists them.
