Ok so heres the story. My dad gave me his old laptop like a year or two ago and the audio jacks dont work. So what could be the problem? There is sound comming from the speakers so I dont think the audio card is broken. Is is easy to change the jacks or should I just leave it? I am not planning on using that computer. Maybe just when playing DayZ checking the map or just using it in bed.

First try to update your audio drivers.

The audio jacks are on a small PCB separate from the motherboard
