Looking for 1920x1080 gaming-focussed non-curved QD-OLED

Niko-O

Hi! First-time poster here, I hope I don't get too much wrong. Not sure what tags would be appropriate to add to this post.

I have already read through the How to choose a monitor sticky post.

Current situation:

I have an XMG Pro 17 E21 laptop, with these screens:

* External run-of-the-mill 24" 1920x1080 60Hz LCD screen connected via DisplayPort to DVI

* External run-of-the-mill 24" 1920x1080 60Hz LCD screen connected via HDMI to DVI

* Internal screen (17.3" laptop) 1920x1080 300Hz LCD, which is stupidly excessive, but hey

I guess, you can see a theme here. I find the 1920x1080 resolution very comfortable. (I can elaborate, if you want, but suffice to say I'm pretty set on that resolution. I miiiiiiiiight consider 2560x1440, if there are other significant advantages.)

What I'm looking for:

My laptop can drive 3 external displays and I can always use more screen realestate. I've been eyeing OLED screens for a while now, but I've held off because convenience is important to me.

I don't want to have to hide the taskbar to avoid burn-in and I need a screen that's at least reasonably bright.

QD-OLED seems convincing to me, but I'm having a hard time finding something that fits all of my requirements:

* 1920x1080 (or maybe 2560x1440, if I really can't find anything else)

* 16:9. Kinda included in the previous point, but I wanted to point out that that's important for me. I don't like the super wide screens.

* Not curved

* >=120Hz refresh rate

* Something close to 24". Can be bigger, but at 1920x1080, it shouldn't be a lot bigger.

* Hopefully robust in terms of burn-in

* Maybe not >1500$

I don't particularly care about color-accuracy and HDR. If it also does that, that's neat, but it doesn't have to. I'm also not up-to-date on how well Windows handles this kind of stuff.

Bit of a rant:

I remember a few years ago when I tried to get a particular color on the screen and "for some reason" Chrome displayed a different color on the screen than I specified in the CSS. I also vaguely remember that it rendered the black bars of a YouTube video in actual black (RGB 0,0,0) on one screen, but then switch to a very dark gray (Something like RGB 9,9,9) halfway through dragging the window to a different screen. And a friend had a problem where subtitles in videos would be rendered in a slightly different color if an overlay is displayed.

This stuff drives me absolutely insane.

I'd much rather not have HDR than have to deal with nonsense.

What I found:

I took a peek at the recommended reviewer sites.

* Searching for "qd-oled" on https://tftcentral.co.uk/?s=qd-oled

None of the search results are non-curved non-ultrawide QD-OLED screens.

Also mentioned on this article from august 31:

"There’s been other 34″ ultrawide monitor models using QD-OLED announced but not yet released as well from Samsung themselves (G8QNB) and MSI (MEG 342C) so far." (Both of these are are curved.)

This does not bode well.

* Searching for "qd-oled" on https://pcmonitors.info/:

They only seem to have the Dell Alienware AW3423DW and DWF, which are curved ultrawide.

* https://www.rtings.com/monitor/tools/table also only has the AW3423DW listed.

So I'm at a bit of a loss. The curve especially seems to be a problem.

Are there simply no screens yet that fit all of my criteria? I'd be willing to use a TV screen, if it's known to work well as a computer screen and if it's not too big.

I'd appreciate any suggestions and alternatives!

Also:

I live in Austria. Being able to order from a supplier that ships to here without hundreds of euros in shipping cost would be preferable (but I'm not yet at the point of thinking about ordering anything anyways).

QD Oled is a super new tech. As far as I know, only that Alienware and maybe one or two LG monitors have it. You'll be waiting a while before QD oled panels fit your requirements.

QD-OLED currently only has 55" and 65" 120/144Hz 4K TVs and one 34" 175Hz 1440p ultrawide. The monitor you're looking for doesn't exist. And we don't have any information on when or if other screen sizes will be available.

"Regular" OLED has been on the market for many years by now and there is still no standard sized high refresh rate monitor using this tech. It's still 99% big-screen TVs starting at 42".

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.
