Hello! First time PC builder here, really enjoying the process, but not enjoying the issue I'm having.

Here's my part list:
CPU: i7-12700k
RAM: Corsair 32GB D5 5200
AIO COOLER: Corsair H150i Elite LCD
SSD: Samsung 1TB 980 PRO NVME
PSU: Corsair HX1200
MOTHERBOARD: Asus Prime Z690-P WIFI D5
GPU: None right now

I'm currently experiencing a very odd issue where my PC is seeming to randomly post and randomly not post. I have been in the BIOS and seen all of my parts show up correctly, so I don't think it's an issue with them. I've even been able to post once, then shutdown and not be able to post immediately after. The error code from my case I have plugged in says there's an issue with the RAM but I know there isn't because I've seen them both in the BIOS picked up correctly. I really am not sure what is going on but it's driving me crazy. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Things I've tried:
Unplugging everything and plugging back in.
Reseating CPU and RAM.
Taking out CMOS battery, shorting the reset switch, then putting back in.
Taking out CMOS entirely (did post once, but not again)
Using only 1 RAM stick.

Hello, thanks for the detailed info,

now I've went on and searched memory support on Motherboard and CPU,

and according to Intel website, your CPU supports this memory speeds:

image.png.f62ea4db2c90df733d03c0b2194a5661.png

Now, I don't know if that includes XMP/D.O.C.P., someone else might know better.

Because: my CPU supports 2667 MHz (2667 MT/s). - Yet I am running XMP/D.O.C.P. 3200Mhz just fine.

Do you have issues with XMP/DOCP turned off?

What slots are your RAM stick(s) installed? Ideally, they should be the 2nd and 4th slot away from the CPU, as shown in the motherboard's manual on 1-5.

Yeah, I have the RAM in the right spots.

Have you tried running memtest86? Download it and install into a thumb drive, as the software runs it's own "OS" and you'll have to go into BIOS to change the boot order to the thumb drive to run memtest86.

I'm currently not even able to get into BIOS. It doesn't post at all, not sure what to do from here.

So the issue just worsened then from the original post.

Ok, I would check over all the power connections, from the motherboard to the PSU since the HX1200 is a fully modular power supply. Any sign of life by shorting the power button pins on the motherboard instead of the case? Just to rule out a faulty case button.

Same result when shorting the pins instead.

Wow, ok that's quite something.

Only thing I can think of next is to pull the system out of the case and build on top of the motherboard box and try booting there, just to rule out a short. If still nothing, I'm suspecting the motherboard is bad but would like to see others chime in for their input.

I've actually been on the motherboard box this whole time, just connected the led lights to the case to be able to see the status blinks. I've actually managed to get it to post again randomly and I'm now updating the BIOS via ASUS EZ Flash 3 and my flash drive. Do you think that will fix the issue?

Hopefully, flashing the BIOS is all that is needed, I just hope you are able to flash it without losing power as it'll corrupt the BIOS.

That would be the next thing to check is the flashes and how fast they are for the Q-LED Core with the power LED. Scroll down to the bottom (unless they are in the manual) of the motherboard page and tells you what to look for.
