The best way would be to figure out a way to get cables between those places, another way would be to maybe stream stuff to the TV via some streaming device and try to use some usb over network device for the wheel, but I can already imagine the driver horror you might encounter, if it works at all.

What I mean to say is that there are ways, but they all kind of suck.

Is there a way to do this?

If you have the PC wired in via ethernet, and have ethernet available near your TV, you can grab a Raspberry Pi and run Steam Link on it, will let you stream your games from the PC via LAN. Just have to use it hardwired in, trying it over wifi sucks. Not 100% sure if the wheel works over that though, but mouse/keeb or Xbox controller worked for me, so I assume a wheel would as well.

Thanks for the recommendation, I will try running Steam Link on a Linux computer, since my only Raspberry Pi is currently running OctoPrint and there's no way I can get another one right now.

To elaborate on connectivity & latency considerations for game streaming, like with Steam Link:

Wired is best, but wireless MAY work in some situations and is viable for various games:

  • 5 GHz wifi reception is a must, because 2.4 GHz will barely work even at lowest bitrates
  • Streaming device to TV should be <30 feet from wifi and no more than one typical wall (my experience with an AC access point)
  • Have a wired path from the PC to the AP transmitting to the streaming device, or else a wifi backhaul will cause even more latency
  • IMO, latency is manageable with games that don't have fast action or require quick reactions

It just comes down to your home, network, and game preferences. Driving games will likely suck unless maybe playing something like truck simulator.

Another wired alternative is powerline adapters, which I imagine have lower latency than the average wifi but I don't know for sure, nor do I know the quality of the connection (dropped packets, etc) - As the data is transmitted through existing electric wires and assuming both rooms are not on the same circuit, the signal has to route through the home's breaker box to the other circuit.

Over the years, I've used the Steam Link box, Steam Link app on a TV, and on my phone successfully with games that don't need low latency.
