So, my PC has been BSOD-ing recently and after running memtest, I found out that 2 out of my 4 memory modules are failing with a significant number of errors. I ran all modules on all slots and narrowed it down to those 2. Weirdly, while they are all the same make and model, the failing ones are from 2 different sets, bought a year appart. They are even different revisions. I have ran the first set for 2 or 3 years and the second set for a year now haven't had any problems before. For the last year I've been running the now failing modules in slots A2 and B2. Any ideas how 2 sticks from different sets started failing at the same time? Running the other working modules on A2 and B2 works fine btw. Could they have been damaged by something else?

Try disabling XMP if already enabled and run memtest again. What CPU do you have?

RAM can definitely make noise if not seated correctly. I'm also aware of failing RAM making noise. I assume that you've uninstalled and then reinstalled the RAM based on you narrowing it down to two specific modules. If not, definitely try that. Being that you're getting a great number of errors I strongly suggest replacing it ASAP. BTW, have you checked the voltages that they're running at?

Uninstall and reinstalled many times, ran each stick in each slot as well. With XMP/DOCP they are at 1.35 which is pretty standard. I haven't ever manually overclocked them.

Disabled XMP. There's less errors then before but there's still errors. The CPU is a 5900x

Sounds more of a processor issue than RAM as RAM is pretty hard to kill, and this all happening suddenly and getting worse tends to point towards an IMC issue.

That was my concern as well but the other two working sticks work just fine in the two slots where the broken ones were, while the broken ones are failing in all alots. It would be pretty odd if the IMC caused permanent damage on the RAM but is working without error on the ones that are fine.

That's highly unusual to see this happen with the failing RAM; first for me to see too. So scratch the IMC being the issue if the other sticks are working in the other RAM slots.
