For the past 3 years, I've been using a Samsung Tab3 lite tablet. It's got 1gb of ram and runs android 4.4.2. However, entering university, I needed something a little more modern. I'm on a very tight budget and was really only able to get something around the $100 price range. Luckily, I managed to find a Nokia C20. It's still got 1gb of ram but runs android 11 go. Because of my prior experience with the tablet, I expected the phone to perform similarly with the only real difference being apps supported. Apparently I was horrifically incorrect. The Nokia performs a whole lot worse than the Samsung. It tends to overheat rather quickly, has a penchant for exiting apps and perhaps worst of all, seems to have unalterable memory restrictions. Idk if HMD Global did this deliberately or if this is just a case of poor quality tech but the Nokia has some severe memory problems. Not only that, there seems to be settings that I can't change. For example, I would simply like the ability to play music with my screen locked but that apparently isn't an option. I could really go on and on but this phone is just dreadful and a terrible experience. Anyways, what I'm really here to ask is, is there a way to get around the memory restrictions on my android 11 go Nokia c20?

Ram. It's only got 1gb, and i know that's very small but it should at the very least be able to play music with the screen off. I've tried turning off adaptive battery and battery optimisation (even for all apps) but all that achieved was heating up the phone a whole lot faster.

send it back as faulty for the heat and get a refund.
