I think it’s worth it based solely on security updates.   Every time a new OS is put on the date of when the machine runs out of security updates is reset, so eventually if the machine survives long enough it will be updated to the most recent update it can and then it will have a fixed period of time before it no longer receives security updates and is trash.  You will eventually have to update the machine anyway.  If not this one then eventually. Might as well get in the habit.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Hello, my question is does it worth to upgrade to iOS 16.0.2? I'm currently on iOS 15.0.2 don't know should I upgrade?

I'm using iPhone 12 Pro 6/128GB. I want to know about fluency of work, and mainly battery. Thanks to all that reply.

iOS is 15.6.1*

You’ve got some time.  you can skip this one if you really want to.  The next one will have those things in it though so there likely isn’t any avoiding them unless they get pulled later.  I don’t see any point in avoiding updates unless something in it is actively broken.

I just saw somewhere like phones are heating more then before, or battery is bad after updating?

All batteries eventually go bad. If you get an update once a year, it wouldn’t be super surprising if a battery listed as failing after an update.  Lithium batteries lose a bit of quality with every charge cycle so they will have gone through hundreds by the time that second update rolled around.

If a battery was lost as not degrading before the update but was after I would suspect the update was more accurate not less.

I personally haven't noticed much from my 12 Mini after upgrading to 16. Seems about the same as it was with 15. I think for some it's a self-fulfilling prophecy since they're using the device more after an update to try out the new features. So of course battery life will take a hit and the device will heat up a bit more.

I would only trust reviews for battery and such a month or so after release, when the hype and curiosity dies down.
