I have a question for the ones that have the steam deck dock, does it allows to boot from a usb ssd?

I'm asking because i have a anker dock and i can boot windows from a usb m.2 only on the usb-c, not on the usb-A, and i like the layout from the steam deck dock (everything on one side) to attach it permanently to the steam deck

I've never used the Steam Deck Dock itself, but I have used the Steam Deck with other docks, and yeah you can totally boot off USB, such as the official USB recovery image or in my case I'll boot CloneZilla and make dumps of the Steam Deck's drives.

There's no reason to believe the official dock in somewhat inhibits this behaviour.
