Another stupid question, sorry guys, just need to be sure.

In my PC, I have one 1TB Hard Drive with everything on it, OS and all, I was just wondering will anything go wrong if i just unplug the power and SATA cables and move it down a slot for easier access, and plug it back in?

(Obviously when the PC is off.) Will i have to go into the BIOS and tell the system to boot off of this drive again or should it boot and keep all my stuff as normal?

Thanks, and sorry for petty and stupid questions constantly, you've all been a massive help to me!

Should work fine. I just moved both my drives to a new motherboard and they remembered everything. I did go from a MSI motherboard to a MSI though.

Alrighty then, thanks anyway i just wanted to be safe, dont want to lose all that data AND my OS :D

if you're not changing sata ports on the mobo, it won't matter at all

and even if you did change sata ports, with 1 drive, it wont matter at all.

the mobo will just go down the list in its boot order till it gets to the HDD

:P I would say backup your stuff, but I don't think you can back it up if there's only one drive and nothing to back it up to.

Nope that's my problem, it's not urgent anyway, just the screws that I bought to customise the way my fans are fixed to the front poke a little too far into the HDD bays and prevent the drive sliding out... Then again if i'm afraid to move the drive when will i ever need to slide it out? Haha!
