Hey guys, not sure if this is the right section so sorry if it isn't. Anyway, I noticed one of my cores had a high usage and I narrowed it down to explorer.exe. Why is this happening and how the heck do I fix it? I tried restarting multiple times, killing the explorer process and deleting contents of C:\windows\temp.

bad sector on your HDD?

Are any of your folders loading slowly? Windows could be trying to read from the disk and its timing out, causing windows explorer to spin waiting for whatever it is to load

When i first boot my laptop after a while of being off. the windows indexing service kicks in and starts indexing the drive. Makes my CPU usage go up quite a bit until its done. I can't remember if it indexes under the explorer.exe process though.

SSD on my laptop also

oh well glad its "fixed"
