Im think of one mad mod to my 820. Replacing the plastic top and front with steel pressed into the same style and i have also badly replace the mess on the side panel with a window.

I had something similar in mind, if you are going to do to please let me know  ;)

Ask on the forum if someone knows a guy nearby where you live?  ;)

  • 8 months later...

I recently bought the same case! I plan on making a larger side window (like the 900D) as well as putting in a mid plate!

Was thinking of doing that myself! Midplate and backpanel for the mobo track to cover up the black over white cable shrouds (white 820 version)

Getting very tight with XT45 280 in the bottom and a ST30 420 on top + still need room for pump (currently on top of the bottom 140 FAN with a bracket) and reasonable location for the res (undecided) but it's a packed case with a EVGA Classified card taking up the space where I'd have it pretty badly...looks like I'd have a horizontal res in this and will be making a top fill port somewere. Too bad the ST30 420 version only has 2 ports ARGH! Let the true modding commence, since I haven't even cut a panel yet :)

oh drain this somehow without taking everything out. Anyone got any creative suggestions for draining location in the bottom?

Sorry no photos just yet. Still in planning. Currently using lots of paper to mockup what I plan to do. so much white in the case is very very interesting. I put a small UV LED while I was checking routing for my temporary Primochill UV Pearl Green and Yellow tubes. Oodles of fun. I think I will tear down this thing a couple times.

Currently sleeping on this design for V1. I might completely re-tube it later.

Ooooo that is a great idea! It is a movie series I love.

Did a quick benchmark. I might need to reserve the loop. GPU max temp 40, CPU now 63...maybe reseat the block on the CPU and check my numbers. Still leak testing.
