HDR seems... colourless

I have a problem with my laptop (HP ENVY x360 15-es1000ny) that whenever i turn on HDR it seems like my screen becomes so unsaturated.

The colours seem so blank with HDR turned on.

I also seem to be having a issue with a line (1px thick) running across my screen that is only there half the time? it disappears on black backgrounds.

And since updating windows 11 to 22H2 it seems like i cant connect a second monitor, it just doesn't detect it.

What could be the cause?

What are the screen specs and what “HDR” is it rated for?

windows cant seem to find a HDR certification, yet offers to turn on HDR.

Attached are the screen specs

It doesn’t need a certification to have HDR, the base spec to call something HDR is absurdly low.

Maybe your display is just out of cal.

Yet the problem doesn't persist with HDR turned off? Should i just forget about that feature on my laptop?

Try watching some HDR content on the display first and then turn it off and watch it to see if it makes a difference
