help with windows home server, needed

Hey I want a Windows home server system but don't know what specs it should have or if I should buy a premade one (I want to stream vids off it and store music, files have it back up every night and not need to be changed ofen)

If you can get one of the pre-built ones, such as the Acer or HP units, then that'd be the easiest and least technical way.

 

Otherwise piece together a low-power system in a decent case that fits whatever formfactor you're after. CPU wise something like an Intel Pentium or Core i3, or an APU for AMD. Make sure it has enough SATA ports for your drives (Most come with plenty).
