bit of context here I am fed up with windows and decided to move to kali linux as all my games are supported on it is there a way to transfer all my games and files to the os without downloading everything again? \

thanks in advance 🙂

Depends, do you plan on using wine or proton (compatibility layer by Valve)? If yes, you can copy-paste game files to correct locations (for Steam games probably in /home/<your_user>/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/).
For native Linux games you will have to re-download binaries.

PS Kali is weird choice for daily driving and gaming, that distro is oriented towards pentesting and digital forensics, it is based on Debian testing branch.

Cool, just wanted to warn you it might be a bit more difficult than necessary to run such a distro for daily stuff, especially if you are Linux beginner, and since most of the tools found in Kali can be installed on any other distro.
Anyhow, good luck with your switch from Windows to Linux 🙂.
