Thank you for the advice, sadly my Motherboard only has 1 slot for the gpu, so even if I have another one I can't use both at the same time... I'll try to RMA if it's possible, if not I'll just get a new Motherboard since my current one doesn't even have an APU, my PC is basically an oversized paperweight right now...

I meant if you had a friend/relative nearby that would give you access to a running machine with a good GPU.

RMA may be your best bet, either way.

Hello, I'm having a problem with my PC, it came from abroad, it was assembled by my Brother and was sent to me as a gift. The package arrived today looking a bit banged up, well the outer box is, the GPU was removed for transit and was securely bubble wrapped along with the inner components. As soon as I plugged in the GPU and some of the necessary connections I tried booting up my PC and I saw some lines, well not really "some" but a lot of it...

At first I figured it was the Motherboard since the slot where to plug the gpu in was a bit bent, but my cousin came over and plugged my gpu in his PC but the same lines keep appearing. What are these lines and is there any way to fix my gpu since it seems to be the problem.

Also I know it's not my Monitor, I've tested it one 3 different monitors and I see the same problem...

Ouch.  Looks like either the video card or motherboard did not make the trip intact or had problems to begin with.   It’s hard to know if it was the shipping or not.  With any computer shipped through the mail it’s worth making sure that all the cabl and slot connections are properly seated though.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Yeah what happened is a big ouch to me... I checked my Motherboard and all of the connections in it and they work perfectly fine. I did however test the GPU with my cousin and neighbor's PCs and it's doing the same weird thing... That's why I was wondering if my GPU can be fixed. My cousin opened it up but there's no sign of any physical damage. Also before my Brother shipped it everything was working perfectly, and the components were secured properly. I guess this happened in my country's customs, those assholes throw boxes like it none of their business...

If you have access to another computer with a functional GPU, you might be able to put both cards in, using the other card as the display output, and flash a new BIOS to the damaged card. If that doesn't work, you might have to RMA or replace the GPU, sadly. D:

In general video cards cannot effectively be fixed.  the tools and expertise needed are generally too dear to make it economical. Manufacturers are often capable of it though.

This is generally true, however, someone like Louis Rossmann would be able to, and I believe actually has, fixed GPU's. The cost might not be worth it, though.
