Budget (including currency): Roughly 600-800 (CAD)

Country: Canada 

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly FPS games and some Video Editing on Premiere Pro

Other details I'm trying to figure out if I want to go with Next Gen AMD or Intel (I was gifted DDR5 Ram) I Currently have a RTX 3070, Corsair 220T, 800W Corsair Power Supply and a bunch of storage):

Investigate the AMD 5800X3D. It's not the latest gen chip, but still lightning fast for FPS and very strong performance for productivity. Get a B550 or X570 board that has the features you want, 32GB or more of RAM (DDR4) and you're off to the races. Should fit inside your budget too. 😉

Sorry Forgot to mention I was gifted DDR5 ram as a present, so I wanted to go with next gen

Wait till tomorrow for Rocket Lake to be announced before finalizing it. We don't know how much Alder Lake will drop in price when Rocket Lake releases (a pretty important factor for what you'll end up getting), and given X670 board pricing a 7600X and board will barely fit in the budget, not including a large cooler like what you need for that chip. 

 

If you really want DDR5 and you want to spend that much, Intel is the better option.
