Stray doesnt load

Just purchased Stray but unfortunately it doesnt load. Never had an issue like this before with a game.

Capture.PNG.c6b8fbd21a7e270c2bd83070a12e17fc.PNG

Specs:

r5 5600x 4.8ghz

gtx 970

trident z rgb 2x8 3600mhz cl17

windows 10 home 64 bit

Game is installed on an ssd and installed with steam.

Specs meet recommended requirements so there shouldnt be any issue there.

It was downloaded from steam then?  I assume a redownload has been done?

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

Im redownloading it right now. Ill edit to post to say if it did or didnt work.

edit: didnt work

Could be a steam problem, a game dev problem, or a your machine problem.  With the first two everyone would be having the problem though.  Steam has a community forum that goes by game if there is something specific to the steam install someone is likely to have mentioned it there.  Looking at your logs may tell you what kind of crash which may be useful.

Event viewer would be one. There are a few others that might be useful.  Some are turned off by default so you have to start logging and then have something happen so you can see what happened.
