GPU Fan completely uncontrollable.

Ryzen 5 2600X

8GB 2x4 G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4 2800MHz CL15 - (currently running 2133MHz)

Gigabyte Aorus B450 Pro WiFi Bios Rev. F2

XFX RX580 8GB

PNY GeForce GTX 690

Thermaltake 750W PSU

 

I've been getting this issue where my GPU fan on my GTX 690 keeps ramping up and down inconsistently even when its at idle. Sometimes it slowly ramps up to max speed and stays there for a good while, I've tried manually controlling the fan through MSI Afterburner but it doesn't effect the fan speed at all and I'm worried its going to damage the fan or the card.

690 is getting to be very old, it might be that the fan controller is starting to go. Unlike the AMD card, GeForce experience/Nvidia control panel doesn't really do much on the consumer cards.

If that is the case I hope it lasts at least until I can get the money to buy a newer GeForce card because It seems to be random on whether or not it does it, like right after i posted this forum the fan returned to normal.
